With the advent of free flow of news and colourful entertainment around 2002, private television channels transformed the media environment and created a new demand for informed, skilled and professionally trained people.
Conscious of this transformation and the growing need for trained media professionals, the Pak Center for Social Development — PCSD established Aawaz Institute of Media Sciences as a centre of excellence for media education.
AIMS has continued to expand that vision into media, management, technology and emerging professional disciplines, while keeping practical training at the centre of the learning experience.
Academic study is only one part of the AIMS journey. Students are encouraged to practise, participate, connect and build a professional identity before graduation.
We provide in-house internship opportunities for Mass Communication students through AIMS TV and AKAR BAKAR Films, while students also gain exposure at leading television channels and professional organisations.
